On August 27, 2017, the 9th National Conference on Low-field Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Technology and Applications was grandly opened in Zhoushan, a beautiful island, co-hosted by the NMR Instrument Professional Committee of the Analysis Instrument Branch of the China Instrument and Control Society and NiuMai Analytical Instruments in collaboration with the College of Petrochemical and Energy Engineering of Zhejiang Ocean University. Over 100 scholars from universities and research institutions across the country attended the conference. With the theme “Nuclear Magnetic Resonance and Industrial Applications,” the conference focused on new applications of low-field nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) in various fields, sparking in-depth discussions.
This year’s highlight: The conference maintained its high academic standard, with academic reports covering the latest research developments, especially in the petroleum sector, making it an event not to be missed. Additionally, NiuMai launched a new product at the conference: the NMR Particle Surface Characterization Analyzer. The new product, affectionately dubbed “Little White,” attracted considerable attention, with experts pausing to engage in discussions with engineers.

Right: Professor Song Fuquan, Zhejiang Ocean University
Professor Xu Zheng’s report was titled: “Development of Portable NMR Systems and Their Applications.” Professor Song’s report was titled: “Porosity Distribution Measurement and Fluid Permeability Characteristics of Porous Media at Nano-Scale.”

Professor Tan Mingqian, Dalian University of Technology
Professor Tan’s research at the School of Food Science, Dalian University of Technology, leads the field of marine food research. He shared his team’s work on the application of low-field NMR technology in marine food research.

Associate Professor Wang Xin, Shanghai University of Engineering Science
Professor Wang’s report was titled: “Progress in the Application of LF-NMR Technology in Oil Quality Detection.” Professor Wang’s team collaborates with NiuMai to develop a mobile oil quality analyzer, which has gained recognition in the domestic oil research field. (I can’t help but feel proud and fond seeing my own mentor presenting!)

1: Lu Rongsheng, Southeast University, Development of Non-invasive Blood Glucose Monitoring Device for Human Fingers using NMR
2: Yang Zhengming, Deputy Chief Engineer of the Permeability Fluid Mechanics Research Institute, PetroChina Exploration and Development Research Institute, Langfang Branch, Report Title: “Progress of NMR Technology in Tight Reservoirs”
3: Yao Yefeng, East China Normal University, Rapid and Accurate Measurement of Rubber Crosslink Density Using Low-field NMR

The “Little White” from NiuMai made its debut at the Low-field NMR conference. Its compact design and powerful functionality, especially in particle surface characterization, drew significant attention, with representatives stopping to engage in discussions.
This year’s dinner was different from previous ones, combining a product launch, the announcement of national major certification results, and the conference welcome dinner. There were also poems to add flavor, as well as a sand painting performance and exciting prize draws, allowing the attendees to unwind and enjoy themselves after a day full of discussions. In a relaxed atmosphere, everyone shared their visions for the future of scientific research.
Yang Yi, NiuMai’s R&D Manager, presented the new product—NMR Particle Surface Characterization Analyzer, officially launched in 2017, for industrial and scientific applications in fields such as electronics, pharmaceuticals, and materials.

Mr. Zhang Yingli, Deputy General Manager of NiuMai, hosted the release conference for the national major instrument development project. On August 8, 2017, Jiangsu Provincial Productivity Promotion Center invited seven related technical experts to evaluate the technological achievements at our company. The experts unanimously concluded that the “High-Performance Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Relaxation Analyzer” met the requirements for scientific achievement evaluation and reached an international advanced level.

Mr. Yang Peiqiang, General Manager of NiuMai, and Secretary Liu Changchuan led the NiuMai staff present to offer a toast, celebrating the success of the conference!

After the toast, the dinner officially began, with everyone enjoying the carefully prepared Zhoushan cuisine in the beautiful early autumn evening. There was also a lottery, poetry, and a sand painting performance to enliven the event. For more details, please follow NiuMai’s official public account.
In August, Zhoushan was a picturesque place, and the two-day academic conference brought forth many sparks of thought and collisions of ideas, thanks to the efforts of the organizing committee to ensure the conference went smoothly!

With that, the 9th National Low-field Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Technology and Applications Conference in Zhoushan came to a successful close! We look forward to meeting you at the 10th conference!
