Notice for the 2017A03 Advanced Training Course on NMR Technology and Applications

Published on: 2017-09-15 10:54

Since the end of 1945 and early 1946, when American scientists Bloch and Purcell independently discovered nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), the technology has developed rapidly and has now become a complete new discipline with its own theoretical foundations. In recent years, low-field NMR analysis and imaging has emerged as a new non-invasive, non-destructive, and fast detection technology. It has demonstrated unique advantages in analyzing core physical parameters, fluid dynamics in porous media, hydrate synthesis and decomposition, drilling fluid oil and water content, geotechnical and concrete microstructure, unfrozen water content in frozen soil, and other energy and geotechnical research fields. Low-field NMR typically uses water and oil as probes to rapidly acquire porosity, permeability, oil saturation, gas saturation, movable fluid saturation, movable water saturation, bound water saturation, and other physical properties and fluid parameters in porous media. It has broad applications in petroleum energy, geotechnical, and concrete material fields.
From October 17th to 20th, 2017, Suzhou TaiNiu will host the 2017 A03 session of the NMR Technology and Application Advanced Training Course (Energy and Geotechnical Fields) in the beautiful city of Suzhou. The course will focus on the basic principles of NMR and imaging, with an emphasis on the application and experimental techniques of NMR in energy and geotechnical fields, ensuring that participants efficiently use NMR equipment.
