On April 8, 2016, the Newmai Postdoctoral Innovation and Practice Base welcomed the first postdoctoral researcher, Dr. Wu Fei, for his project proposal presentation. Attending the session as review experts were Director Dong Liang from the High-Tech Zone Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, Xu Yiming from the same bureau, Director Wu Qi from the Postdoctoral Management Office at Suzhou University, Professor Sun Zhouzhou from Suzhou University (Dr. Wu Fei’s postdoctoral supervisor), Newmai General Manager & postdoctoral mentor Yang Peiqiang, Newmai Vice President Zou Pingsong, and managers from Newmai’s Application, Software, and Marketing departments, including Zhang Yingli.

Suzhou Newmai Analytical Instruments Co., Ltd. successfully established its postdoctoral research station in 2014 with support from the Suzhou Municipal and High-Tech Zone Human Resources and Social Security Bureaus. In 2015, in collaboration with Suzhou University and the High-Tech Zone Administrative Committee, Dr. Wu Fei was recruited as the first postdoctoral researcher.
Following the project proposal procedure, Newmai Postdoctoral Research Station Director Yang Peiqiang provided a brief overview of the station’s current status and future plans. The Newmai Postdoctoral Innovation and Practice Base, located under the Innovation Research Institute, is designed to leverage postdoctoral researchers’ innovative thinking, research depth, and interdisciplinary expertise, fostering the collision of ideas with practical reality. Beyond Dr. Wu Fei, the base plans to recruit three additional postdoctoral researchers within the next 1–2 years to promote mutual growth and development between the enterprise and high-level talent.
For today’s main agenda, Dr. Wu Fei presented his project on “Automatic Parameter Optimisation and Fully Automated Testing Application for the D-T2 Sequence”. His report covered the project background, key research objectives, proposed technical roadmap, innovation and research foundation, timeline, and expected outcomes. The presentation was logically structured and detailed in its exposition.

After Dr. Wu Fei’s presentation, the review experts provided individual evaluations and unanimously approved his project proposal. The experts also highlighted that, as part of this unique enterprise–university joint recruitment model, postdoctoral researchers must integrate theoretical knowledge with Newmai’s NMR technologies and products to ensure effective translation of research into practical results.
Newmai provides a supportive working environment for its postdoctoral researchers. Following the session, the experts toured the Newmai facilities and took a group photo, wishing continued success and a strong, talented community at the Newmai Postdoctoral Innovation and Practice Base.
