In this study, hydraulic fracturing was performed on cylindrical sandstone samples at varying injection rates using a self-developed experimental system that integrates Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) and hydraulic fracturing. The results indicate that low injection rates primarily cause damage at the macropore scale, whereas high injection rates tend to promote micropore-scale damage. This may be attributed to the adsorption-induced swelling of clay minerals within the pore spaces.

The conference has been successfully held twelve times and is the most comprehensive event in China for showcasing and exchanging achievements in low-field nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) technology and its applications. The 13th National Seminar on Low-Field Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Technology and Applications will continue to focus on theories, methods, and technologies in low-field NMR time-domain, magnetic resonance imaging, and other NMR-related fields, as well as their applications in energy and geotechnical engineering, life sciences, food and agriculture, and polymer materials.The conference plans to invite renowned domestic scholars and NMR experts to deliver keynote lectures. The NMR Instrument Expert Group of the Analytical Instrument Branch of the Chinese Society for Instrumentation warmly welcomes colleagues from relevant fields to actively participate.

At this seminar, engineers from Suzhou Newma provided in-depth explanations of low-field NMR technology in the field of material testing. Their presentations highlighted innovative applications, particularly in analyzing the proportion of soft (amorphous) and hard (crystalline) segments, crosslink density, binder content, and particle dispersion. Guided by the concept of “Big Food Vision,” this conference focused on technological innovations for the future of food and promoted deep collaboration among industry, academia, and research sectors. Held in a hybrid format with both online and offline participation, the event attracted nearly 400,000 viewers for the live broadcast, fully demonstrating its extensive influence in the food industry.

At this conference, Newma highlighted a series of innovative applications of low-field NMR technology in the geotechnical field, attracting numerous attendees to its booth for discussions. The staff introduced visiting experts and scholars to Newma’s MacroMR and MesoMR product lines, which further integrate multi-field coupling of flow, stress, temperature, and chemical fields, enabling high-fidelity, near in-situ dynamic process monitoring.

The competition, themed “Explore · Share · Innovate,” focused on innovative applications of low-field NMR technology in food science. It attracted numerous students and faculty members, with multiple cutting-edge research projects competing on the same platform. Through the presentation and exchange of experimental cases, the event deepened the application research of low-field NMR technology and injected new momentum into the development of the food industry.

Low-field NMR technology, as a non-destructive method based on the magnetic properties of atomic nuclei, has recently emerged as a promising tool in material analysis. Manager Liu highlighted its application in particle dispersion and specific surface area analysis. By precisely measuring the relaxation time distribution of hydrogen nuclei in materials, low-field NMR provides deep insights into the microscopic structure of materials, including particle dispersion states and accurate determination of particle specific surface area, offering critical guidance for optimizing material performance.
