Recently, the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Finance and the Department of Science and Technology announced the proposed projects for the 2023 Provincial Special Fund for the Commercialization of Scientific and Technological Achievements. A total of 85 projects across the province, with 23 from Suzhou, were selected. Niumag’s R&D and industrialization project for its advanced NMR core analyzer for deep-well oil and gas exploration has been successfully shortlisted.

This initiative, launched by the Jiangsu Department of Finance and Department of Science and Technology, is one of the first of its kind in China to focus on translating scientific breakthroughs into market-ready technologies. It is widely recognized for selecting high-tech, high-impact projects with substantial funding support.

The advanced, high-speed, high-precision NMR core analyzer for deep-well oil and gas exploration is a fully integrated solution developed in-house by Niumag. It includes a proprietary NMR measurement system, an intelligent core control system, and high-resolution inversion software. The system is designed to be precise, efficient, highly reliable, and intelligent. It is especially suited for challenging exploration environments such as shale gas, coalbed methane, and tight oil, delivering rapid, quantitative, and detailed reservoir evaluations. This significantly enhances hydrocarbon-water discrimination and increases drilling success rates.

This breakthrough technology breaks the longstanding international monopoly in NMR logging. The performance of the instrument has reached world-class standards, making China the fourth country—after the U.S., Germany, and Russia—with full capabilities in both R&D and manufacturing of NMR well-logging equipment, paving the way for domestic substitution.

Field-Based Energy Exploration R&D Innovation Project

In the Field-Based Energy Exploration R&D Innovation Project, Niumag achieved a clean sweep. The company secured both the Jiangsu Provincial Special Fund for Scientific and Technological Achievement Commercialization and the Suzhou Key Industry Innovation Plan. Notably, the Full-Diameter On-Site Vehicle-Mounted NMR Project was recognized as a “First (Set) Major Equipment” by both Jiangsu Province and the Suzhou-Wuxi-Changzhou region.
