Conference Relay: 2018 marked the 10th anniversary of the National Low-Field NMR Conference. To celebrate this milestone, themed sub-sessions were held across three cities — Qingdao, Ningbo, and Wuxi — each focusing on specialized research domains and sparking more in-depth academic exchange.

From October 17–19, the Energy & Georesources Sub-Forum was successfully held in Qingdao. With over 30 high-level presentations, the academic quality of this event reached new heights. If you missed it, feel free to check the highlights online.

Next up: From November 5–7, the International Forum on Biomedical Materials and the 10th National Symposium on Low-Field NMR Technology & Applications (Biomedical Materials Session) will take place in the beautiful coastal city of Ningbo. “Niumag Night” Showcases FFC-NMR Technology & Applications

Fast Field Cycling Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (FFC-NMR) is a cutting-edge technique that measures spin-lattice relaxation rates over a range of magnetic fields. By modulating field strengths from a few kHz to 40 MHz, FFC-NMR captures how T1 and T2 relaxation times vary — enabling detailed analysis of NMR dispersion (NMRD) curves.

Application Areas:

1. Evaluation and optimization of MRI contrast agents

2. Routine assessment of therapeutic protein aggregation

3. Studying interactions between proteins and other molecules
